The Certificate in Theology is a one-year foundational program designed for those beginning their theological journey. Whether you are a lay leader in your church, a new believer eager to grow, or someone exploring a call to ministry, this program provides the essential tools you need.

Over two semesters, you will be introduced to the Bible, the core doctrines of the Christian faith, and the basics of ministry practice. You will learn alongside a community of fellow students, mentored by faculty who are both scholars and servants of the Church.

This certificate also serves as a stepping stone to our Diploma and Bachelor's programs, allowing you to continue your formation without starting over.

Program Objectives

Course Outline

The program consists of 8 courses across two semesters:

Semester 1

• CERT 101: Introduction to the Old Testament
• CERT 102: Introduction to the New Testament
• CERT 103: Foundations of Christian Doctrine
• CERT 104: Introduction to Biblical Interpretation

Semester 2

• CERT 105: Introduction to Church History
• CERT 106: Spiritual Formation and Prayer
• CERT 107: Foundations of Ministry and Evangelism
• CERT 108: Introduction to Christian Ethics

Further Study

Upon successful completion of the Certificate, you may apply for admission to the Diploma in Theology program. All 8 certificate courses count toward the Diploma requirements, meaning you do not lose any progress.
