Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.)

The Bachelor of Theology is our flagship undergraduate program. Over four years of intensive study, you will be immersed in Scripture, grounded in the great doctrines of the Christian faith, and equipped with the practical skills needed for a lifetime of faithful ministry. This degree prepares you for pastoral leadership, teaching, further theological study, or any vocation that requires a deep and disciplined understanding of God's Word.

The program is structured across eight semesters, with each year building on the previous one. You will move from foundational surveys to advanced exegesis, from introductory doctrine to systematic theology, and from classroom learning to supervised field ministry. A final year thesis allows you to explore a topic of your choice in depth under faculty supervision.

Graduates of the B.Th. program are serving as pastors, chaplains, teachers, denominational leaders, and missionaries across South Sudan, Africa, and beyond.

Program Objectives

By the end of this program, you will be able to:

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the Old and New Testaments, including their historical, literary, and theological dimensions
• Articulate and defend the major doctrines of the Christian faith with clarity and confidence
• Analyze key movements, figures, and theological developments across church history
• Prepare and deliver faithful, engaging biblical sermons for diverse audiences
• Provide wise pastoral care, counseling, and spiritual direction
• Lead a church or ministry organization with integrity, vision, and administrative competence
• Conduct basic theological research and write a supervised thesis

Biblical Languages

A distinctive feature of the Bachelor of Theology program is the opportunity to study both biblical Greek and biblical Hebrew. Across four semesters, you will gain the skills to read the New Testament and Old Testament in their original languages. This foundation opens the door to deeper exegesis, more faithful preaching, and further academic study.

Senior Thesis

In your final year, you will research and write a thesis on a theological topic of your choosing. Under the supervision of a faculty mentor, you will develop your research question, engage with primary and secondary sources, and produce a substantial piece of academic work. The thesis process prepares you for the kind of independent study required in master's level programs and lifelong ministerial learning.

Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Theology, you are eligible to apply for admission to our Master of Divinity program. The B.Th. also provides a strong foundation for specialized master's degrees in biblical studies, theology, or related fields at institutions across Africa and worldwide.
